Behind human trafficking and sex slavery news headlines and statistics are vulnerable girls and young woman who, once freed, often find themselves lost and without hope leading to high suicide rates or these victims fall back into the snares of pimps, slavers and traffickers.

There are a few safe houses in and around Johannesburg making a positive impact on survivors, however, limited resources and bed space frustrates their efforts. Fresh Start aims to offer additional safe beds and assistance, moreover, life and employment skills training and development to ensure a stable, good and healthy alternative future to these girls so hungry for change, a fresh start to a better life.

We believe these girls are not defined by the horrors of sex slavery but with the correct guidance and skills training have a future and a hope for a good and healthy life. Our mission is not only to facilitate restoration but to instill hope, hope for a future that attains independence through life and vocational skills training, enabling dreams, be it to become a florist, waitress, bookkeeper, chef or receptionist to name a few and then teaching budgeting, setting targets for future plans and dreams and creating practical plans around these. We aim to see these girls and young woman on their feet, standing strong, making a positive contribution and the most of their lives
